Hills mp demands consultation on detention move

HILLSBOROUGH — One candidate wants to set up a committee to address the lack of detention facilities after local governments balked at providing beds.

Eugene Peralta is asking that the Hillsborough County Commission issue a formal complaint to the Hillsborough county police chief over the county’s lack of adequate beds in the county jail.

“There are many things we need to address,” Peralta said. “For me it’s카지노 사이트 about the safety of the officers who work that jail. There are too many people here to handle all of the cases that should be handled by the court. There is no evidence that the people responsible for these deaths are doing anything wrong.”

The Hillsborough Coun바카라ty Commission will vote this afternoon on Peralta’s request, which the commission already approved.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is refusing to provide the same beds to the Hillsborough County Commissioners of Health for the County Jail.

The Commissioners’ r더킹카지노equest to create a “Committee on Detention” seeks to examine policies and practices that the state does not mandate as long as the county jail system is operational.

The commissioners say the county has been operating without adequate beds for more than three years after county officials and county staff began discussing options to meet inmate demand.

If the commissioners approve Peralta’s request, they would have six weeks to submit their proposal to the commission.

Peralta said the county needs to be responsive to the jail inmate population.

“We have an overworked, under-resourced system,” he said. “There are not enough staff here, there are not enough beds. The jails are overcrowded.”

Peralta proposed that any additional beds being provided to the county would come from funding that comes from the state.
